Green Schools Engaging the Nation
This September, local Green Schools Advocate for USGBC Sara Holmes will travel to Washington D.C. and represent the Central Plains Chater at the Green Schools Committees Symposium and the third annual Congressional Advocacy Day. The Green Schools Committees Symposium will give Sara the opportunity to connect with the work of USGBC national, and to develop advanced skills, strategies and resources to champion green schools in Kansas and Missouri. The Congressional Advocacy Day provides an opportunity to interact with members of Congress and their staff to promote sound green building policy at the federal level. Fall Training Preview (Kansas City)
We are in the final stages of preparing our FALL TRAINING SCHEDULE in Kansas City! Registration and class information will be available here soon. All classes are 2 days and will be led by Trane Technical Training Instructors from LaCrosse, WI. Class times are NOON - 8:00 pm.

2010 AC Clinic
It's time to plan for the 2010 Air Conditioning Clinic, brought to you by the University of Missouri - Kansas City and TRANE. This course, which takes place one night per week from September - December, covers the basics of air conditioning. This course is NOT a service school. Omaha Trane Gives Back to the Community
In conjunction with the Salvation Army, the Omaha Trane office collected back to school items for the the less fortunate children in the Omaha area. The office was able to purchase backpacks, paper, notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, and several other necessities for children in the area so that they would be prepared for the new school year.

The Lee's Summit R-7 School District and Trane have joined forces to save money for local schools while reducing the district's energy usage. Through the R-7 School District's performance contracting energy-saving effort, the R-7 School District is completing a variety of projects this summer and into the 2010-11 school year. On July 8, a number of rooftop Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) units were replaced at a total of six Lee's Summit schools. In all, the program includes energy-efficient improvement at a total of 14 buildings this year. Click here to read more about the project. |
